Mount Alford is located in the Scenic Rim, South East Queensland. We are lucky to be one of and close to many beautiful locations in the heart of the Scenic Rim. Mount Alford is home to approximately 350 people from many generations of families including some new families wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of urban growth.
Local destinations are regularly visited by out-of-towners and locals too, proving to be a drawcard for tourism in Queensland. Only a short distance from Mount Alford is Moogerah Dam and Maroon Dam- both part of the catchments in the area. These dams host watersports and other recreational activities, and are an ideal backdrop for rest and revitalisation. Many waterfalls and gorges surround the area, also proving to be popular Summer destinations for families.
Several Outdoor Education Centres operate in this rich and diverse area. Also, many South East endangered species have a quiet and protected shelter to live in, as the area caters to the environmental needs of their ecosystems.
Keep a keen eye open for repurposed chruches that have found their home in Mount Alford. A historic General Store still stands at the entrance of Reckumpilla Street. Many artists also call Mount Alford and the Scenic Rim home, as the landscape is inspiring and one of a kind.
We are well worth a visit.
